Complete Your Preventive Care Before The Plan Year Ends

If you haven’t visited your doctor for your annual wellness check-up – time is running short to obtain this and other preventive services before the plan year ends.

The best way to ensure your health is on track is to visit with your primary care provider each year to review any changes to your health and have bloodwork done check for any potential underlying conditions. Screening for any medical concerns on an annual basis means detecting potential risks early when they are easier and less costly to treat.

As an added incentive, SchoolCare participants are eligible to earn up to $300 per year in Good For You! Well-Being Program incentives for preventive care services and screenings rendered.

If you haven’t visited your PCP but would like to try to get in before the end of the year, it’s important to call now and see if you can get on their schedule. Many doctors are booking out several weeks in advance, so while it may not be possible to get on the schedule for this plan year, you can get a jump on next year by making an appointment now. This will ensure you earn your $75 next year for completing your annual check-up.

If you cannot get in to see your PCP, but would like to earn that extra cash before this year’s incentive period closes on June 30th, consider connecting with a provider virtually through MD Live. You will be asked to complete a biometric screening in advance of your appointment (which will earn you another $150 if you haven’t completed your biometrics or earned your max incentives this year) and you will meet with physician via video chat from your own home at a convenient time for your schedule.

• Click on the “Find Care” menu at the top of the website or the bottom of the mobile app
• Choose “Find Doctor by Type” online or “Search for a doctor” on the app
• Select “Primary Care Physician” from the search menu.
• And click the “Go Virtual” button to link over to the MDLive provider site.

If you don’t have a PCP or need to find a new one, myCigna is a great place to start. Follow the above steps for finding a provider but select “See a Local Provider” instead of “Go Virtual” for a list of nearby in-network providers.
