MANCHESTER, NH – In response to the upcoming closure of the New Hampshire Interlocal Trust (NHIT), SchoolCare is proud to announce a new partnership with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, effective July 1, 2025, to ensure continuity of coverage for affected public entities across New Hampshire.
The unexpected announcement of NHIT’s dissolution has left many municipalities, school districts, and other political subdivisions urgently seeking replacement health coverage – with several under tight timelines and within the bounds of collective bargaining agreements. Since 1996, SchoolCare has served as a trusted, non-profit provider of comprehensive employee benefits to public entities throughout the state. This new collaboration with Harvard Pilgrim will help meet the evolving needs of these groups by offering continuity in provider access and continued support they have come to expect through risk pool membership.
“This partnership is rooted in our mission to support New Hampshire’s public entities through dependable coverage, transparent pricing, and high-touch service,” said Lisa Duquette, executive director of SchoolCare. “We’re pleased to offer a path forward for NHIT members that preserves both provider continuity and the many administrative advantages of a risk pool.”
Key benefits of the partnership include:
“We’re committed to providing New Hampshire’s cities, towns, and schools with a stable option during this time of uncertainty,” Duquette said. “For those NHIT members who choose to join SchoolCare, we will work hard to earn and keep their trust.”
