Seeking support for behavioral health is crucial for maintaining overall well-being. Just as physical health requires attention and care, mental health needs to be nurtured and managed. When we experience emotional challenges or struggle with conditions like anxiety, depression, or stress, reaching out for support can be transformative. It can help to de-escalate a worsening condition and teach healthy coping strategies, present new perspectives, and strengthen resilience.

In FY 2024, 39% of SchoolCare participants had a behavioral health diagnosis, as compared to a national rate of 25%. The top presenting conditions were anxiety, reactive stress disorders (RAD) and depression. As a SchoolCare/Cigna participant, you have access to an ever-evolving suite of services both in-person and virtual to meet your behavioral health needs. With numerous options right at our fingertips on our computers and mobile devices, seeking support has never been easier.

Below find resources for accessing support for your behavioral health needs and earning cash incentives:

Get Help Finding an In-Person or Virtual Provider

Check out this article and video about the Guided Navigation tool in your myCigna portal that guides you through a self-assessment about how you are currently feeling and what your care preferences are. This can help you figure out where to start if you are unsure of what kind of support you need. Or, to simply find a provider, login to myCigna on your computer and click “Find Care and Costs.” In the mobile app, tap “Mental Health” on the home screen. Follow the prompts to find an in-person or virtual provider based on your preferences. 

Access Your Employee Assistance Program

Access confidential support at no cost for several needs including emotional health and family support, work/life resources, financial and legal assistance and job or career support. Click here or navigate to the “Employee Tools” page under the EAP menu item at the top of the page to learn more about the Employee Assistance tools available to you. You can also access more information in your myCigna portal under the “Coverage” menu.

Reframe Your Mindset with Happify and iPrevail

If you just haven’t been feeling yourself lately, but aren't looking to dive into one-on-one counseling a couple of tools found under the EAP resources at myCigna.com may help. 

  • Happify is a free app for SchoolCare/Cigna participants that uses science-based activities and games to help you overcome negative thoughts, stress, and life's challenges. 
  • iPrevail is an online tool to help in overcoming anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief, panic, and more with on-demand coaching and personalized lesson plans based on proven cognitive behavioral therapies.

Get started in your myCigna portal, click EAP under the coverage tab and find Happify and iPrevail in the Behavioral Health Resources.

Earn Good For You! Well-Being Program Cash Incentives

Here are three ways to earn Good For You! incentives for prioritizing your mental health. Click through for flyers and more information.

Telephonic Coaching (up to $350)

Engage with a health professional for support in making progress toward overcoming chronic conditions and making progress toward and achieving health goals. Earn $100 for making progress toward a overcoming a chronic condition, $25 for making progress toward a health goal and $50 for achieving your goal. View flyer for more information.

Online Coaching (up to $250)

Participate in four-week programs to monitor your mood and feel happier, or track and control your stress levels. Earn $50 per completed program up to 5 per year. View flyer for more information.

Self-Reported Healthy Events (up to $400)

Self-report activities that benefit your mental well-being, for example meditating, journaling, exercising, watching an EAP Wellness Webcast, volunteering and more. Self-reporting events takes just a couple minutes of your time and you can earn $25 per event, 4x per quarter. View flyer for more information.

To earn your incentives you must complete your annual online health assessment found in your myCigna portal.  Login to myCigna and click on “My health assessment” under the wellness tab to get started. It takes just 10-15 minutes. You must complete it by May 30, 2025, to earn incentives for this plan year.
